El Vendedor de Sandías
On May 12th 1962, Watermelon Man, one of the most important songs in the history of jazz and popular music, was written by Herbie Hancock. The song was very successful in those days, and today, 50 years later, it is still a very cool composition which is recognized all over the world.
El Vendedor de Sandías is a project directed by Chema Peral and edited by Crean. It is an homage to Watermelon Man, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of its composition. The project involved a large number of illustrators. Each one made an individual illustration inspired by Watermelon Man song but using only two colors.
